Mr. P’s Brit Pop Persuasion ’allo, ’allo, ’allo, wot’s all dis den?Mr. P’s Brit Pop Persuasion perform music that is upbeat and danceable, featuring original tunes and a slew of energetic covers, sourced all the way from the UK — from the British Invasion of the 1960s to the pub rock of the 1970s to the post-punk revolution of the 1980s. Little evidence of this mischevious quartet exists as of yet, but here’s a snippet of one of our fave pop songs from 1979. |

Mr. P’s Brit Pop Persuasion A Brief History of the BandIt all seems so long ago now, back in the halcyon days of 2023, when Mr. P packed his guitars, his dog and the rest of his worldly possessions into an old Honda and drove from his home of 33 years — Austin, Texas — to start a new life in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Asked to create a band from scratch for the East Hampton Old Home Days festival, Mr. P gathered a veritable Who’s Who of area musical talent to perform the music nearest and dearest to his heart. The rhythm section is driven by drummer Tom Nelson (Colchester, CT) and bassist Jen Wang (Glastonbury, CT), with keyboard stylings by John Yannis, Esq. (Colrain, MA). Keen historians will note that John and the band’s dear leader performed as two-thirds of the Boston rock band Lower Wacker Drive in the 1980s before Mr. P decamped to Texas. |
